Relentless Drag at Cannes

Troy and I had an absolute amazing experience at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year!

‘Relentless Drag’ was a part of the Short Film Corner at the festival. It was such an honour to have this opportunity to present our film on a world stage. We had so much fun promoting our film and networking with other filmmakers from around the globe every night at the Short Film Corner and parties, and during the day there was always mingling happening at different parts of the festival.

We saw a bunch of films throughout the festival, walked the red carpet and saw many celebrities. It was so great being in one place with such a huge amount of people, all passionate about film!

The whole festival was such a big learning curve for us, as we learnt more about the qualities that people look for in great films (especially from viewing the 2012 Short Film Palme d’or selection), networking, the Australian film industry and most definitely the international film industry. An animated film from the Cinefondation selection that we really admired that’s definitely worth checking out is Timothy Reckart’s, ‘Head Over Heels

We are now so motivated to share our experience with others, and inspired to start work on our new projects so that we can return to Cannes over the next couple of years.

Since we’ve been back in Australia it’s been such an honour to be selected as a Staff Pick on Vimeo, being invited to be a part of the RAW event in Brisbane  and also the Surfers Paradise Festival held on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Exciting times ahead!
