Relentless Drag @ RAW Australia Launch
Being a part of the RAW:Natural Born Artists international launch in Brisbane, Australia last week was a huge achievement for the RD team! Our film screened at the ‘Oh Hello’ nightclub along with fashion, dance, visual art, make-up and hair exhibits. It was amazing being in such a compact space with so many people, enjoying beers, candy floss and popcorn, while watching our film on 3...

Relentless Drag at Cannes
Troy and I had an absolute amazing experience at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year!
‘Relentless Drag’ was a part of the Short Film Corner at the festival. It was such an honour to have this opportunity to present our film on a world stage. We had so much fun promoting our film and networking with other filmmakers from around the globe every night at the Short Film Corner and parties, and...

Flock of birds test. It really makes a difference that the birds are on different levels on the Z-axis. With a couple of different bird animations instead of just one we have the gist of doing the bird flocks down pat.

Second robot rig walk test.
First robot rig test! It took so many hours and frustrations finishing the set up of the rig and then the actual animating, and there are so many glitches and wrong things but in general it has a good feel and there’s only a few problems I found that we’ll need to fix on the design of the rig. We’ll need to have a better look at how the stomach and pelvis fit together so they...

Extremely rough animation test of a bird flying. I was watching crows fly the other day and noticed that from a distance, even though they are just a black silhouette there is still a slight variance between the top and the bottom of the bird as the sun hits the top so all of those bits are lighter than the bottom. I tried to incorporate that into this test in a very bold fashion.

As mentioned previously, C42VNM was designed so only the ‘enemy’ was killed, without causing any physical damage to surrounding resources. Releasing the gas from planes wasn’t an option, as they needed to stall, and would therefore be shot down. Dropping C42VNM bombs wasn’t an option either, as due to not having any explosive qualities it was hard to infiltrate bunkers or structures.
So...
Relentless Drag Backstory Part 1: History of...
A few years from present day an unforeseen rapid decrease of resources affects the entire globe (due to a predicted decade-long heatwave). Society becomes increasingly desperate for basic necessities such as water and fossil fuels, countries started to work together, however it wasn’t too long before things began to appear hopeless. Even prior commonwealths and empires turned on each other. Of...
